What software and what burner are you using?

You might want to check things out with Nero CD-DVD Speed. You can use
it to do a Quality Scan on burned good and bad discs. If you Create
Data Disk then you can do a Transfer Test.

Don't do anything else in foreground or it will cause glitches in the
test result.
