The media table in your recorder's firmware may not recognize the
"Transonic" disc as capable of 8X writing. Or, the "Transonic" disc may be
erroneously, or even fraudulently labelled. Use a DVD identifier program
to read its true characteristics.

Solution: obtain updated firmware for your DVD recorder.
