Looking for something that the two of us can watch a movie on while sitting
together on a couch (i.e. the screen doesn't have to be that big...) - but
location-independent. (i.e. can be used anywhere in the house without
re-routing a bunch of wires or carrying additional equipment around.)

I don't have a specific device type in mind - although a standalone DVD player
with integrated screen seems like the no-brainer.

Was checking out Sony's 12" LocationFree device. It sounded promising at
first, but the more I read about it the more it sounded like it wasn't quite
ready for prime time. Antiquidated browser, no POP authentication, and a few
other things.

Somebody somewhere alluded to the idea of using a laptop with a WiFi card and
streaming the video from a PC/DVD Drive/TV Card somewhere else in the house. I'm
guessing that battery life would be an issue with a laptop solution, but don't
know...

So: can anybody make recommendations - strategic/general or specific?
