I received a Cyberhome DVD Recorder DVR 1600 model for Christmas. Thereare things I like about it, but there is one oddity. On the zoom
feature, the player artificially adds *artificial* letterbox lines when
the picture is zoomed in on a film. Normally, the picture "fills out"
the screen when it does this. Is there anyway to turn these
*artificial* letterfox lines off. It does this on both the 4:3 pan and
scan mode and the 4:3 letterbox mode, but not the 16:9 widescreen mode,
but if I do this on my 4:3 TV, the images look elongated.

Another thing I'm not so pleased with is that for some reason
installing the player causes interference on my digital satellite TV
signal, so recording on it is worse than any VCR ever was even on "HQ".
I'm really stumped and scratching my head on this one, but will leave
 that for another time.

At any rate, the zoom debate about image quality and director's
intentions aside (please), can anyone tell me if there is a way to
remove the artificial letterbox additions on zoom, it is really odd,
especially since the player has a "zoom out" feature, one of the few
 I've seen with the feature.

 Thanks in advance,
 Larry
