I have had nothing but good experience with DIVX 6. Provided you don't
select any of the features of DIVX 6 that are not supported by the DVD
players then the DIVX avi files will play. The divx extension is used
when you build advanced features such as menu etc into the file. If
you select Home Theater quality with standard selections you shouldn't
have a problem.
If you don't want DIVX to convert other MP4 avi then make the selection
in the DIVX Decoder Configuration Utility to remove the check mark for
selecting decode of generic MP4 video.
I have the Phillips 642/37 player and have not problem with DIVX avi
files that are set up in the standard configurations.
