There are? The only ones I can find that are certified as 'DivX
Encoders' (*not* the 'Home Theater' or 'Ultra Home Theater'
certifications) are devices for connecting to a PC, not standalone DVD
recorders or HDD recorders.
Is there one I'm missing?

able to record to DivX:
ELSA EX-VISION 1700TV
Pentax OptioS6
Plextor PX-M402U
Plextor ConvertX PVR PX-TV402U
Plextor ConvertX PVR PX-TV402U-NA/MAC
Plextor ConvertX PVR PX-TV432P
Having looked at them all (aside from the Elsa, for which I was unable
to find an English-language page) not a single one is a standalone device.
