Check user reviews at

Liteon 5005 one of the most popular dvd recorders (2nd generation chip
set) The only negative i can think of is no ability to choose
thumbnail image for chapter on menu. (it uses 1st frame as thumbnail)
and its too easy to get a unit with problems, make sure you purchase
from good seller. I have very good experience returning stuff to
www.tigerdirect.com

Allot people in this group like Pioneer DVR-220, (I think
uses older chip-set.

Newer chip-set dvd recorders have iLINK DV input
