Folks,

I'd really appreciate some help here. I have fond, but very vague,
memories of a TV series broadcast may years ago, and would like to
watch it again on DVD if it's been so released. My problem is that I
can't even remember the name. If anyone can identify it for me from
the sketchy information I'll give, I'd be very grateful.

Genre: Thriller/Drama
Setting: NW France (at least in part), though the protagonist was
British - I have a vague memory of his using a local train in the
Dieppe area towards the end of the series. I also have a vision of a
beach associated with the opening credits/title.
Broadcast: about 1985 - 7, lasted (I think) two seasons.
Network: ITV, I think.

I have the forename 'Philip' in my mind for the protagonist, but I've
no idea if that was the character, the actor or a red herring.

Not much, is it?
