Just ask your previous employer for permission to use their material.
You know where they are. And your ass would be covered.
In the long run, it's better to go this way.
You won't have any 'splaining to do to perspective clients. And you
won't suffer any backlash if any perspective clients go to you
previous employer and mention in passing something they saw of theirs
on your reel.
Or, do as some folks like to do..... shoot first, then ask a lawyer
questions later.
