The problem with wireless and trying to use it that way is it's not easy
(possible?) to have multiple people talk without the risk of overriding each
other.
I.e. the receiver will only pickup one incoming at a time so if two people
try to talk you will only get one or possibly none.
unless you have clever multiple frequency units it all gets horribly
complicated. You end up having to ensure everyone knows how to sign on and
off correctly and avoid excess traffic.
That's why almost everyone goes for wired systems with the odd wireless
module for the odd roaming person.
Other than that you would have to look at individual wireless units that
connect back to a base station and then tie all the basestations together.
It would involve all the wireless unit using different frequencies to avoid
clashes.
