In the old days, even Fortel 16-line TBCs were $5000.ea.

Today, there are a few cheapies. One of note is the KeyWest Technology
Big VooDoo BVTBC8 or BVTBC10 (either 8-bit or 10-bit). The first is
about $900., the second about $1150.

Prime Image makes a few cheapies, but Big VooDoo (don't let the name
put you off) is the cheapest REAL TBC.

If you can find one used, great. Other used models to look for might
include For*A.
