Hey, thanks for fielding this if anyone has suggestions:
I currently use two cameras, an XL1 (yes, the old one) and a GL2.
Generally I shoot with two cameras, and edit between. My concerns are
about the differences in the picture between the two. I shoot mostly
in auditoriums, in low-light/stage environments. The GL2 seems to have
much more vibrant color, better contrast, and the XL1 image is usually
pretty flat.
Color temp isn't so much an issue, because I manually white balance
before, but the GL2 just seems to deal with the low-light better, and
the results are pretty markedly different.
I would have thought that the CCDs were pretty similar and the cameras
were as well, but maybe I'm wrong... is there something I can do to
make the XL1 image more similar to the GL2, or should I (as I've been
entertaining) sell the XL1 and just buy another GL2? No HD in my
immediate future.
Thanks for any input...
PB
