hmmmmm. even with my limited experience with audio and video editing thus
far, if your going to do any serious editing, i wouldn't recommend anything
less than a dual core and preferrably a dual processor if your getting a new
computer. that's just my dimes worth but if we were trying to do our work
with a single processor i think we'd be in trouble. the old dual core gets
pretty cooking as evidenced from the 5 speed, special processor cooling
compartment and the fan racheting up to speed 5 during rendering and
exporting. so, if you have a choice (when getting a new machine) go HOT and
POWERFUL because the future of video editing says you'll need it. our next
computer upgrade will be dual processor, dual core, with as much FSB as we
can get. and if we have the budget at the time, we'll go 4 processor like
our server (4 - 3.0 Ghz Xeon's w/800 FSB each), cause that baby never gets
lagged . . i mean never, even with a 102 websites (several getting over
50,000 hits a month - one over 30,00 in one day), and several with huge
databases with many of those sites have ecommerce!
