No, it only sends the channel you're watching via RF. I've never had a TiVo
so I can't compare it, but I find the Sky+ incredibly handy - I often record
2 channels at once (plenty of stuff on at 7pm and 9pm that I like to watch
on various channels), while watching a recorded programme (and so far no
stuttering of any kind despite the hard disk working overtime handling 3
things at once). If you already have Movies or Sports then you don't pay the
10 monthly sub, so the only outlay will be the initial cost (which is high,
but occassionally they do have deals going so try bargaining with them on
the phone for a lower price). I've only got the v2 40gb model (you can get
around 20 hours on it) and so far I've only come close to filling it on one
occassion as I do tend to watch stuff I record later the same day or the
next, but you might want to consider the 160gb model (or get a 40gb and
replace the hard drive with a bigger one) if you think you might hang onto
programmes a bit longer.
