I modded my Canon ip5000 to print on DVDs.
I had to buy (you can also make) a CD Tray
on eBay and load drivers from another country (Japan?)

Works great.
I don't know if Canon is selling the ones that
print on the disk in the U.S. Something to do with the patent.
