Ive been using DVD-R since the Pioneer A03 and currently have 5 PCs
kitted with burners.

Ive only recently noticed that on (pretty much the only one used) the
Pioneer A09 often seems to pause during a burn. ie the green light
flickers out.

Looking at the burn process, if the buffers were falling or the CPU
usage was high, I could understand why - but not when the buffers are
at 100% and CPU usage minimal.

I always thought a good burn meant the lasers had to be consistently
burning for optimal performance?

Is this normal or a sign of a problem?

The burnt discs seem to be OK and happens whatever media is used.
(currently G05 and Taiyo Yuden)
