An example would be matching a live performance that was faster than the
studio audio track to that very same CD track.
In other editors, I'd simply slice the video into segments that start on
a downbeat, match them to the same downbeat of the studio recording,
then stretch the right side of each clip up to the beginning of the
next, effectively slowing down
and "scaling" the video to the slower tempo. Premiere, Vegas and others
simply let you stretch the clips to the point you want, and adjust the
speed accordingly. Does FCP have anything this intuitive? I have tried
the time remapping tool, but instead of actually being able to pull the
clip to a point and release, FCP just gives you frame numbers, not a
good visual aid. The time remapping graph isn't that easy to understand
either. Plus, the subsequent clips move to the right when you do this..
Am I overlooking something?
