What S/W are you using to burn? Windows XP's own writer only handles CDs,
and you need additional S/W to burn DVDs. Try http://www.cdburnerxp.se (but
use the 3.0.116 from the link right at the top of the page, not the Alpha
version noted in the News) for simple but free burner S/W If it does not
work with that you seem to have a faulty drive, in which send it back.
