We have had video editing on PCs for a number of years now. Only a couple of
years ago a 3gig Prescott on a p4p800se would have been a funky system.
Let's not forget that just because new faster hardware comes out, the old
stuff doesn't work anymore.

As for editing, I still do mine on a 2.4gig machine although I have a 3.6Gig
box available. I, therefore, approve of the choices you've made, but cannot
advise on any card.

Dual core processors are the thing of the (near) future when we all do HD
editing. But as long as few of us have screens to show HD let alone any kind
of hardware (bluray, HDDVD) to burn discs with, I go easy on that one.
(However, I can't wait until the day I edit, burn and view HD!)
