Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of AMERICAN EXPERIENCE: HIJACKED,
BENJAMIN FRANKLIN, CRIME STORY: SEASONS ONE AND TWO, DIFF'RENT STROKES:
THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON, MARTHA'S BAKING FAVORITES, NIGHTY NIGHT:
SERIES ONE, SEX AND THE CITY ESSENTIALS: BREAKUPS, SEX AND THE CITY
ESSENTIALS: LUST, SEX AND THE CITY ESSENTIALS: MR. BIG, and SEX AND THE
CITY ESSENTIALS: ROMANCE:
AMERICAN EXPERIENCE: HIJACKED (reviewed by Brendan Babish, overall
score 94/100):
"While the documentary has been well researched and expertly produced,
it is also commendably balanced. That is not to say that the film acts
as an apologist in any way for the hijackers, or for terrorism as a
political tool."

BENJAMIN FRANKLIN (reviewed by Mike Pinsky, overall score 95/100):
"Over the years, I have read Franklin's autobiography (often called the
first true work of American literature), studied books and films about
the man and his time, and generally felt I had a handle on who Franklin
was. The best thing I can say about this documentary is that I came away
with a new appreciation for a historical figure that I thought I already
knew too much about."

CRIME STORY: SEASONS ONE AND TWO (reviewed by Mike Pinsky, overall
score 80/100):
"Crime Story was innovative for its time, even if it had to make a lot
of compromises to stay on the air. But in retrospect, it took too long
to find its footing, and its tendency to change directions for the sake
of survival ultimately weakens it in comparison to shows that more
successfully worked the serialized-drama premise in later years."

DIFF'RENT STROKES: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON (reviewed by Patrick
Naugle, overall score 85/100):
"And really, who couldn't love a wisecracking black child with a rich
white father?"

MARTHA'S BAKING FAVORITES (reviewed by Rob Lineberger, overall
score 80/100):
"Martha's Baking Favorites nearly got me excited about baking. I was
ready to get off the couch and show my wife a thing or two about
meringues."

NIGHTY NIGHT: SERIES ONE (reviewed by Joel Pearce, overall score
82/100):
"The term 'dark comedy' doesn't even begin to describe Nighty Night.
In fact, it's one of the most heartless, vicious comedy series of
all time."

SEX AND THE CITY ESSENTIALS: BREAKUPS (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall
score 80/100):
"How can you have a collection of breakups without Big and Carrie
calling it quits? Aidan's breakup was spectacular, but where's the
Big ones?"
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/satcbreakups.php
SEX AND THE CITY ESSENTIALS: LUST (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall
score 80/100):
"It's hard to think any three episodes could boil all of this down to a
simple collection. Anything called Sex and the City Essentials: Lust
should include almost every episode of the six-year run. Pick any three,
and it would be there."
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/satclust.php
SEX AND THE CITY ESSENTIALS: MR. BIG (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall
score 85/100):
"Sex and the City Essentials: Mr. Big contains the best three episode
selection of all these single-disc collections. It seems strange to only
have three episodes represent Chris Noth's character, whose ghost
haunted every episode of the entire run."
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/satcmrbig.php
SEX AND THE CITY ESSENTIALS: ROMANCE (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall
score 80/100):
"I could think of many other shows from the run that were more evocative
of the title, but nothing wrong with these episodes. If you're looking
for a set that includes the final season's ending, it's the one to buy."
