Well, considering this NG was created for the discussion of WinMX, is it
any surprise that people coming here to slag the app, and promote others,
get short shrift? Really... what kind of reception do you think you would
get if you went to a Mac newsgroup and told the regulars there to switch to
Windows?

Lime-lovers already have at least one forum to sing the praises of their
favourite app - see alt.internet.p2p - and of course, they could also
create alt.music.mp3.limewire if there's such a huge user-base demanding to
be heard. If the best they can do is come to an *application specific* NG
and try and recruit others then they should expect every bit of derision
they receive.

Seriously - anyone starting a thread like "use limewire, winmx sux" in a
this particular forum is sure to be viewed as nothing more than a troll,
and not a very accomplished one at that. Naturally, they could just be a
few brain cells short of sentience and completely clueless about usenet in
general, but I'm going with troll. I have nothing against the many and
varied flavours of P2P (and I use more than one), but at least I respect
what *this* particular NG was created for.

Now, if the subject was "winmx sux, here's WHY", that might result in some
intelligent dialogue, but as it stands, the OP appears to be designed
solely to piss off the regular readers here. THAT, I'm afraid, is one of
the primary definitions of "troll". The fact that so many took the bait is
another issue entirely.
