Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of THE BOY IN BLUE, CITIZEN VERDICT,
DIRTY DEEDS: UNRATED EDITION, EARTH VS. THE SPIDER / WAR OF THE COLOSSAL
BEAST, EXPOSED: THE MAKING OF A LEGEND, GREEN RIVER KILLER, JULIA,
SHADOW: DEAD RIOT, SUPER FREAK LIVE 1982, and YOU SHOULD NOT BE HERE:
THE BOY IN BLUE (reviewed by Michael Rankins, overall score 59/100):
"If ever there was an 'underdog who becomes a champion' sports flick
that deserved to drive a stake through the heart of this shopworn genre,
The Boy In Blue is that flick. Unoriginal, uninspired, and utterly suspense-
free, this limp throwaway of a movie wouldn't even make a decent Movie
of the Week on an all-sports cable channel."

CITIZEN VERDICT (reviewed by Bill Gibron, overall score 60/100):
"With performances cobbled together from various takes (the obvious
editing is a dead giveaway) and about as amateurish as you can get, no
one manages to survive this cinematic slop. Armand Assante basically
mumbles through his performance and you know you're in trouble with even
the ADR (and there is a lot of it here) is equally incoherent. Jerry
Springer has two modes -- screamer or somnambulist."

DIRTY DEEDS: UNRATED EDITION (reviewed by Mitchell Hattaway, overall
score 55/100):
"If it achieves nothing else, this movie at least proves that
professional athletes actually do earn too much money."

EARTH VS. THE SPIDER / WAR OF THE COLOSSAL BEAST (reviewed by Paul
Corupe, overall score 69/100):
"Though Gordon couldn't come up with budgets to compete with the
superior studio sci-fi extravaganzas that he took his inspiration from,
such as The Incredible Shrinking Man and Them, he usually made the best
of his limited resources in the spirit of all good B-film directors."

EXPOSED: THE MAKING OF A LEGEND (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall
score 69/100):
"These are not sad tales of how people are victimized by the adult film
industry. It's not a revealing expose about shocking drug habits, or a
chronicle of concerns about sexually transmitted diseases. It's a bunch
of naked guys stroking their members and talking about silly films that
have become a multi-billion dollar industry."

GREEN RIVER KILLER (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 67/100):
"The Green River Killer just doesn't feel like a movie to me. Pass."
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/greenriverkiller.php
JULIA (reviewed by Brendan Babish, overall score 74/100):
"After watching the film, I understand why the movie is falling into
obscurity. Julia is the prototypical 'important' film with a subject
matter so righteous and meaningful that a failure to recognize its
brilliance seems like a moral failing."
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/julia.php
SHADOW: DEAD RIOT (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 74/100):
"Here's what Shadow: Dead Riot is: a really crappy, tongue-in-cheek
zombie splatterfest women-in-prison film with some stilted martial
arts sequences jammed in there too. If that description doesn't murder
your brain cells, I'll wager you won't be terribly disappointed by
what's here."

SUPER FREAK LIVE 1982 (reviewed by Ryan Keefer, overall score 56/100):
"The bottom line is this, while the producers of this DVD tout this as a
'fitting tribute' to Rick James' career, it's clear that is nothing more
than a cash grab on whatever legacy James has left."
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/superfreaklive1982.php
YOU SHOULD NOT BE HERE (reviewed by Joel Pearce, overall score 45/100):
"Since the North American film market has no shortage of terrible horror
flicks, it seems odd to import them from overseas."
