The EPG noise was my primary complaint with this machine. I would
have thought the NO ANTENNA and NO CABLE settings should have silenced
the EPG, but there is something else you can do that should take care
of it. Go through the TV GUIDE setup again, and tell it that you're
in Canada with a zip/postal code of A0A0A0 (those are zeroes). After
you've done that, use the TIMER REC button to set a timer recording
that will be "permanent". You can set timers for dates years into the
future on the 633, so I set one in 2010. Or you could set up
something to record weekly. The point is that you never want your
timer setting list to be empty as that will trigger the EPG for some
reason.
