I am about to start the project of dubbing my VHS collection to DVDs.
Then I am going to discard the tapes. I figure that very soon, they are
no longer going to be playable, anyway.
After I finish, I want to be able to make additional copies of those
DVDs, and of course I want them to be digital clones. All of the
material originated from my camcorder, so there is no copyright
violation or Macrovision Copy Guard involved. The problem is that I
cannot find a two-deck DVD player/ DVD recorder for the cloning. If I
splurge for two machines, I cannot find any that has a firewire output.
The DVD recorder has to be a stand-alone unit, because my PC isn't
powerful enough to support a burner. Can you guys recommend something?
I don't want to buy a DVD recorder yet for the VHS-to-DVD dubs if I will
not also be able to use it for the DVD-DVD cloning.
