Hi
A friend has a SONY DVD Recorder (a standalone unit - not a PC writer)

They have some DVD-RW discs (which the player can write to) however,
everytime they eject the dis or turn the machine off - when it starts up
again it forces the user to format the disc - thus losing all the data.

Any idea what the problem could be? Just dodgy discs?

I dont knwo the model number or type of discs ATM.
