I just purchased a Liteon 5115 from Costco. It works fine with the supplied
+RW disk, but I
cannot get this this to record reliably on -R media. I want to use the -R
because
not all players will read the +R format. I have tried TDK, Memorex and
Verbatim
disks, all seem to have the same problems which ranges from just failing
during the recording,
or if it makes it through the recording it will fail in the finalising. The
couple that I have been able to
record will not read on my computer or on some of my other DVD players.

I upgraded the FW with no luck. I was wondering if others have this problem.
If
using a different brand of media will help or is this just a cheap player
and I
should take it back to Costco and buy a name brand.
