For some reason copy-protected (Macrovision?) DVD's are not in color.
Non-protected discs play fine. I do have a VCR connected in my home theater
but the DVD player is not connected to it. My DVD player is connected via a
S-Video cable directly to the TV Monitor and the audio is connected directly
to the receiver via a Coaxial cable. The VCR is connected to the receiver
via RCA jacks (Video In/Out).
I thought the problem was with the VCR causing the copy-protection but I
tried disconnecting my VCR and the DVD still plays movies in black & white.
The problem arose when I cancelled my Digital Cable. A service tech came
and took the digital cable box when I was at work. He must have done
something when he was here. I didn't even know he was coming, the cable
company asked that I return the box to them to avoid a fee for picking it up
which was fine with me since I didn't want them touching my home theater!
The guy happened to be in the area so he dropped by when my wife was home.
I'm starting to stress on this issue, I don't know what else to try. Any
help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
-Jeremy
