Fortunately not consumer grade camcorders :-)
Over the years, I've used standalone 3-chip cameras going back to a mobile
(for shading, mixing and recording), BetaCams (various kinds) and my work
camera (a 1/2" 3-chip JVC-550 which, although it's miniDV format, has bigger
CCDs and a good lens).
BTW, my full-time job is being a staff producer for the video department at
a local community college so I get to do a wide range of videos.
