www.emusic.com and http://www.wippit.com/default.aspx Both sell MP3s
on a subscription basis, but once you've downloaded them you can do whatever
you want with them and they won't expire. Some of Wippit's files are in WMA
format and do have restrictions, including, in some cases, time limited
usage. Depending on your tastes you might find the selection somewhat
limited. The major record labels are not selling heavily promoted music in
MP3 format because it doesn't have "digital rights management". Which brings
us to www.allofmp3.com and various other Russian services. They operate in a
legal gray area in Russia. Read the directions and disclaimers carefully. I
would suggest that you do not give them your credit card info, but use
PayPal through their proxy company. They sell popular music in MP3 format
cheap.
