Your options are somewhat limited. Garbage in, garbage out.

There are any number of "clip restoration" plug-ins available (depending on
what app you're using). That will take some of the distortion away, but not
all. If the sound is noticeably distorted, you may never get it back to
anything approaching pristine quality. It just can't be done. Sorry.

Watch your levels while recording.
