I think what got them released was the ongoing embarrasment to our Tone,
plus the fact that there was chuff all in the way of any evidence that they
were ever part of Al-Q. Which is what Guantanamo is supposed to be all
about - the ongoing incarceration of Al-Q's toughest fighters.

Do I think that they were Al-Q (or any other extremist organisation)? Heck
no. They are clearly far too clueless for that. Do I think - on balance -
that they were innocent tourists, caught up in a misadventure? Nope. My
take on it is that they were up for fighting as part of some sot of "Islamic
cause", probably right up to the point where they realised what that
actually entails.

Indeed. Although the only side presented in the film is their side - and
for the forst half of the film, I didn't believe a bit of it.

It did provide me with a degree of entertainment, though.
