Yes it writes + - R/RW and DVD-RAM. Like  I 
said, I was able to write a +R disk and finalize it to 
the DVD-V format which allowed it to play on 
a portable player that doesn't support the +R 
format. The Liteon 5115 could not do that, even 
though it could write and finalize +R disks.
