I helped put together a couple projects two decades ago
that was a murder mystery game.

There was one opening segment
chapter 1 had 1 video track and 2 audio tracks
chapter 2 had 2 video tracks and 4 audio tracks
chapter 3 had 4 video tracks and 8 audio tracks
From there you moved into the "clues" section

Ultimately there were 16 different stories with different
members of the cast as the murder and with different motives.

Of course there were no DVDs back then, so we did it all on laserdisc.
Unfortunately laserdisc didn't have any way to program branching,
so the math to figure out what chapter to jump to next had to be done
manually, and the clues were still frames that you jumped to manually.

Actually, there was some programming and branching available on
some machines, but it varied widely from vendor to vendor, and
was mostly only available on commercial machines.

My son converted a couple paths to DVD with branching and that
made for a much more playable game. No buyer yet.
