What make and model vehicle should I buy to drive to work?
It is unlikely that you can buy any new computer that is NOT
capable of editing video.

Both Apple and Microsoft XP come with (included, free)
video editing applications which many people find can do
everything they need. Apple comes with iMovie, and XP
comes with Windows MovieMaker.

Maybe 6-8-10 times before it becomes too unreliable.
But you will never know until it is too late and you have
lost whatever you were trying to tape. Likely depends a
lot on the particular tape you are using and the equipment.
Is the stuff you are shooting so worthless that you can't
afford a $5 tape? And is it so throw-away that you are
willing to risk not getting it because you used your tape
once too many times? Seems penny wise and pound
foolish, but we don't know what your application is?

The more expensive ones may last one or two more
times if you are reusing tapes.
