Anything distracting would be something to avoid if practical.
OT:
If you ever get the chance, watch "The Party" (1968) where Peter
Sellers plays Hrundi V. Bakshi, an immigrant from India who is an
extra on location for a period (1800s) film. He sneaks up behind a
British soldier to choke him and reveals his large fancy wrist-watch.
The production goes downhil from there with Sellers/Bakshi ultimately
destroying the entire set and being blacklisted from ever working in
Hollywood again.
Director: You.
Hrundi V. Bakshi: Me?
Director: Yes, you. Get off of my set, and out of my picture. Off, off!
You're washed up, you're finished! I'll see to it that you never make
another movie again!
Hrundi V. Bakshi: Does that include television, sir?

Even if you don't watch the rest of the film (which includes the
delectable Claudine Longet before she became a killer, Carol
Wayne, Johny Carson's "Matinee Lady", Steve Franken as
Levinson, the waiter, and some really great slapstick and
situational gags :-) the first 10 minutes is a great mini-production
which stands alone.
