assist is one of the topics discussed from time to time.
There have been many interesting discussions and likely
worth a Google Groups archive search. And one of the
regulars on r.a.m.p.s is Wolf Seeberg who runs a major
rental operation in the LA area specializing in video
assist. Your question would likely start an interesting
and instructive conversation over there among industry
professionals who use as a regular part of their jobs.
