SmartSound was one of the most requested features, and it was
implemented. With the addition of Commotion compositing (yeah, some of
it is dated), along with some fixes, I figured I would take the plunge.
I also have 6.1 install right along with it. The both work fine on the
same computer.
My system is fairly stable to begin with (I built it). I have not had
major problems with Premiere6-6.5, DV500, Studio 8-9Plus. The same with
AL7. There has been a SP2 update that is recommended even if you have
not experienced the problems that it is to fix.
I have dabbled a bit with AL, while still doing work with 6.1Pro. It
works and I am happy with it. Avid says they are committed to AL. That
is another reason why I upgraded. For me, it wasn't quite the full
revision number, but it is close.
