Perhaps your recorder has a different amplification. Most camcorders have
built in, excessive gain, and most also overload quite easily.
Perhaps the mic is defective. The mic is not designed to amplify sound, only
descriminate against sounds to the sides. This mic is really something
for the money, allthough performance wise, its probably lacking.
I'm sure it has some kind of inexpensive electrec element driven
by a power source as a bufer, but no gain. To get sound amplification, you need
another buffer amplifier, or a parabolic mic system, or get closer.
