Hi,

I have a Pioneer DV-656A DVD player which is about 3 years old. It was
multi-region out-of-the-box.

However, if I try and play and DVD-RL (Dual Layer DVD-Recordable) media
then it freezes up as soon as it tries to switch to the second layer.
Shop-purchased DVD's are of course fine, but if I create my own movie and
transfer it to DVD-RL then it won't play in my Pioneer. Neither will it
play in my £30 Panasonic player from Sainsburys. However, it DOES play in
my friend's Cyrus DVD-5.

Does anyone know of a "normal" DVD player that DEFINATELY plays DVD-RL
media?
