As I said before. With PD150's/170's and some other camcorders, the Auto
audio level function will respond proportionately to an external mixer
to the extent that such a mixer will defeat for most practical purposes
the auto level.
DAT is not dead by any means, just depends within whose modus operendi
you're working.
