Did some searching on the net. At Nerd-Out.Com I found:

To quote PhilBy:
I called CyberHome today using the toll-free # I found on this forum. I
think I was only on hold 10 or 15 mins, which wasn't bad compared to
the hold time I expected. I spoke to someone about the warble in audio.
He said updating the firmware would fix it. I explained the firmware
update #1 (loader would not work). He asked me to give him my bios
version information along with my exact model number from the box. He
said my front end was already the latest version, but I needed to
update the backend. He informed me that the version on the CyberHome
website was not the correct and lastest version for my machine. He
actually emailed me the correct Nero image file along with the exact
instructions as well as what the firmware corrected. The firmware in my
machine updated fine. I included that list for others who read this
forum of what the firmware corrects. I did a few quick test recordings
on different quality settings. The sound seemed flawless so far. I hope
this helps. Here's what the firmware corrects and it's backend version
DVR1200MU Version 610. My unit came from Wal-Mart. I assume mostly all
of this model did. Here is the latest firmware for the 1200 model. This
has the latest fix for sound frequency shifts heard during playback of
a burned DVD.
Fixed issue:
1. LED display "PAUSE" when press PREV or NEXT key to play JPEG.
2. Sometimes display REC icon at top right, but display PAUSE icon on
the display panel.
3. Have audio output when finalize or enter disc index.
4. Mute at CVBS1 before switch any other bypass, then switch CVBS1, it
is not muted.
5. Can't play mp3 disc automatically when switch source to DVD mode.
6. LED display "PAUSE" when zoom a picture.
The update was also created to help with incompatibility issues with
various disc manufacturers.
In particular, our customers were experiencing problems with Phillips,
Maxell, TDK, Memorex brand +R
I have Nero, but I couldn't get it to work. CyberHome has an ISO image
for 610 that I got to burn just fine. I haven't tried it yet.
