Hello folks,

I wanted to let people know about a job opening at the New School for
an Audio Video Technical Specialist. This job is my current position,
but I will be leaving at the end of this semester to go off to grad
school next year. I have had this job for about four years now and
would really like to help find someone good for this position. A

This job, even though it says "Support" in the title, is really more of
a tech job where one repairs problems, designs rooms, and does wiring
when necessary. As opposed to your average "A/V" post, this position
instead needs someone with some more high-end skills, such as
experience with ProTools, Avid, Final Cut Pro, as well as solid
hardware skills like doing basic repairs, maintenance, and alignments
on decks and cabling. I came into this job from being one of the
senior engineers at Right Track Recording, and while the excitement
level may have dropped a bit, the pay, benefits, and my free time went
up dramatically.

The New School is located near Union Square in Greenwich Village,
Manhattan (New York City, NY). The pay starts somewhere in the
mid-$40k's with great benefits like full medical, full dental, free
tuition, tons of vacation days, retirement package, etc. and only
35-hours per week of work.
