Just a comment on your question. If you go to Ebay & look under DVD Players
portable, you will find page after page of these items & some of them
advertised as region free. They come "region free" from factory, of course
somewhere in China. I'm not aware of DVDs players being sold solely as
region free, but certainly you can make them region free buy using some
"formula" the distributors can supply or by buying a CD at Ebay ("other
software" ) which contains literally dozens of DVD Players brands, models &
the formula to make them region free. I have a "combo" DVD player & VHS
player LG & the dealer supplied me with the "formula" & I entered it using
the remote control & voila!! Also, bought a portable DVD player, Grundig,
then contacted Grundig headquarters, service Dpt. & they gave the
instructions to turn it into region free. Of course, I'm talking about
standalone DVD players.
