Symbian is an Operating System - Java is a programming platform , but
can also be an OS (there are several java OS phones).
Java ME runs on ALL Symbian phones (the vast majority of downloaded
games are Java ME), all Blackberrys, all Linux phones, all Palms (with
a download), and all newer Microsoft phones.
Java ME (Java MicroEdition - formerly J2ME) is by far the most popular
platform in cellphones - even browsers (like the Opera Mini) are in
Java ME.
Java ME also powers most of the SIM cards on cellphones, and most of
the smartcards in the planet - including the national healthcards of
several countries and the US army.
