I agree. It would take a long time for current DVDs to be supplanted,
but as far as I know that is the plan of the industry. Whether they
succeed or not...well, only time will tell....we may end up with both
for a while, with the prestige and content slowly going to high
definition discs - just like VHS content was slowly throtled down so
now almost all content in blockbuster is DVD.

Also, costs for Blu-ray and other HD players should go down as volume
efficiencies start becoming apparent.
