It is my understanding that progressive scan doesn't mean HD. You still have
to have an HD quality source which current DVDs are not. Progressive scan I
think has more to do with how the picture is displayed, like interlaced vs.
non-interlaced monitors. Non-progressive scan displays show lines going
across the screen. Progressive scan doesn't which makes it look better, but
it isn't HD.

My 32" tube TV has progressive scan component ports on it, these are what I
use to connect my DVD player. However, it is NOT an HD display it is a
regular resolution TV. Odd one, but none the less.
