Component is a step up from s-video though not as great as from composite to
s-video. It adds a extra conductor so you have a conductor for red and blue
with green being derived as a difference signal from these two.

Progressive is just the picture being drawn in one pass as opposed two
(interlaced) as is the norm for broadcast TV.

High definition increases the number of lines diplayed but you don't need HD
to make use of the above features.
