dude, you have the choice not to buy it obviously. all these things are
peripheral to my point that blu-ray will have additional features not
found in HDDVD. if you don't like 'em, heck, that's your choice too.
however, like the phone analogy, i believe there is a market for such
things too. when surveys where done in the late 1990s, many people did
not want "bells and whistles" on the cellphones too. in fact, many did
not want "colored screens" on their phones.
Nowadays, many want ringtones or cameras on their phones, or be able to
pull email and play games on them. you can still buy the very basic
models for a cheap price, but people decided and made a choice to start
buying the more capable phones because it benefits them.
