You are misunderstanding something here...
Progressive scan is not HD.
A "regular" TV picture is composed of two fields; the first field is all the
odd lines and the second field is all the even lines; each field gets
displayed for 1/60th of a second, and two fields make up one frame. A field
only displays one half of the available video information, resulting in a
loss of definition. Progressive scan displays both odd and even lines at
the same time; all of the available video information is available all the
time. Progressive scan is superior to interlaced pictures (1080p is
superior to 1080i).
