 Only if the cable coming out of the wall has S-Video and Stereo jacks
 :-)
 
 Normally the DVDR box just passes the cable signal through unaltered,
 so you won't lose the stereo for just watching TV.
 
 If you play a DVD through the RF cable to the TV, you lose stereo. If
 you play the DVD through the base-band cables (yellow or S-Video &
 red/white) to the TV you're fine.
